History Timeline

Norman, or “Bob” as he was called, returned from the war in the Pacific and decided to pursue his career in plumbing and heating, attending numerous trade schools and programs on his G.I. bill.

March 1956

Norman E. “Bob” Waltz launched his own plumbing and heating service business with his wife Betty. Betty immediately attended local night classes in business and accounting to support their newly found business.

The next 20 years the company prospered in the residential housing and new construction market.

Robert F. Waltz joined the family business, having earned a B.S. degree in business at the University of Maryland and having served a number of years as a sales engineer for a Carrier® air conditioning distributor. As a Maryland state licensed master plumber and master heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration contractor, the company began further expansion of its products and services.

N.E. Bob Waltz acquired Hydro-Aire Inc., a 30-year-old heating and air conditioning contracting firm specializing in custom sheet metal fabrication and Carrier heating and air conditioning products. The Hydro-Aire Division provides top quality residential and commercial heating and air conditioning installations and service and is integrated and supported by the family of N.E. Bob Waltz Plumbing & Heating.

N.E. “Bob” Waltz Plumbing & Heating Inc. earned its accreditation as a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer in Maryland. Fewer than 5% of dealerships nationwide are able to meet the standards required of a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer.

Jeff Waltz, the 3rd generation Waltz, joins the company. Jeff graduated from Salisbury State in 1999 with a B.S. degree in Business Finance. Then in 2001 with a Master’s degree in Real Estate from John’s Hopkins University. His background is not only in the trades, but in finance, business, investments, and real estate, which adds to the top notch level of experience for the firm moving forward in the 21st century.
